Baxxter - The Girls are looking good this summer (7")This is Baxxter's second single for Birmingham's Bearos Records. The band are sounding stronger than ever in these new studio recordings. The music is a chaotic amalgam of Seafood, Dinosaur Jr. and The Wedding Present, the voice full of doubt, anger and self loathing.
Things looked bad for the devils-with-filthy-angel-faces when Twist stole their drummer (to be their bass player!) They borrowed The Starries' drummer on what is now permanent loan and bolstered both the stage and studio sound with the addition of a second guitarist. This resulted in this single and a show that blew away attendees at a Radio One showcase in 2000.
The title track of this EP has been played by both Steve Lamaq (BBC Radio One) and Jon Kennedy (XFM) as well as European independent radio stations. Their ldebut single, "Russian Song", was a favourite on the John Peel show.
"Urgent spitting angst ridden energy, real punk rock - vitriolic rawness
that's got places to go, people to see, faces to shout at - "you're becoming
a caricature of everything you used to hate," spits the voice." (Org
